about

This song is inspired in part by Pablo Picasso's "Tragedy", a painting from his so-called "blue period" depicting three members of a family, clearly cold and hungry, huddled on a beach.

"Where will you go, now you've reached the sea?"

So, it can be seen as a story about refugees who have fled disaster but find they can go no further.

It's also about any of us facing a difficult time in our lives, when the way forward isn't clear, or seems impossible.

lyrics

Latin (as sung):

in ventone volitabas?
tuusne ipsius est cursus?
fortunamne metis an
quae tu sevisti semina?
quae passus onus solus fers;
quo nunc, quoniam ad mare stas?

English:

Did you blow with the wind?
Was the pathway your own?
Are you feasting on chance or
The seeds that you sowed?
Your burden, the past, you carry alone
Where will you go now you've reached the sea?
